For me, getting no materials back when free craft is enabled is okay. I have not investigated I
yet, but it will give you materials for items that you had built without free craft option enabled. But when enabled, the items that you find or pick up, or made with free craft enabled, will not refund the materials.

Also for unlimited health on car parts and fuel/electricity, all of them work just fine. Even if you have 100% health/fuel/electricity, fuel level will freeze unless you visit zones with fuel evaporation. Electricity will be at 50 charge no matter what. However, the car part health will drop until half their health, almost all of them are shown red in the dashboard but they will not go lower. However, you might end up breaking your glass on the doors or your windshield. You might even end up with punctured tire if you run over those anomalies with such power.

That is my experience using these options with the latest update.

reguarding the free craft i have been activeting it in the crafting menu and then switching to the tabs for tools and gear. and then turning it off. this in turn allows everything else to still need materials so be selective which tabs or method of opening the crafting menu you use when its active as activing it and then going into the menu just sets everything to zero causing the zero resources back from the items that are craftable tthat u salvage in the field.

Buffed the 'Unlimited Car and Parts Health' plus added new instructions for it,should be up soon,just note,either enable it before loading your save game or while in game enable it then drive and crash your car to something and all of the parts will turn blue, in reality the value changes but the visual appearance is triggered when car takes damage or is being repaired.

For 'Free Craft', enable it while you want to do crafting otherwise keep it disabled.

As for energies, sometimes you have to do some fabrication with stable,unastable,corrupt required cafts while 'Free Craft' 'Fabricate Everything With Zero Energy' are active to kick start them.

For now i'm done with this title and please do understand that this is avery hard game to reverse and train, since the game has been released I dedicated +6 hours time on it daily and this is the best I could offer and sure it might not be what you expected or it might not be perfect but it does the job if you be careful and follow the given instructions properly.

I assume when your using a crafting table and you activate free crafting you can disable it only when your still using the crafting table

You can't disable it when your not using the crafting table, you can't activate it when not using the crafting table.

Just enable it when you’re using crafting table or fabrication station and disable it when you’re done,the reason behind is that part of the code in the game might be shared with the other things such as scavenging and I cannot isolate it.

I wonder: I installed all possible upgrades to the car shop and to my wagon.
Did anyone progress further into the story line and realized that you encountered a total plot stop, because you unlocked and installed upgrades before you were meant to do that?
I am only on mission 3 or 4 I think.

I did the same thing yesterday on a new game even before doing the base antenna and upon returning from the first mission Oppey said "Great job on getting the antenna setup" or somthing to that effect. LOL--but I can't say if it will break the game later on...
