Actually I think its the "new year" animation which is only played on the 1st of January. So either wait for the 2nd of January or go to your Aurora folder and open the Global Settings.json file and search and change the following line
"EnableTimedEvents": true,
to
"EnableTimedEvents": false,

This will explain why it started happening around midnight yesterday. Too bad my sd card is bricked right now so I cant look at my steam deck without getting angry so I cant see if this fixes the error.

Thanks for this really helped out my Aurora back to normal
The error in your screenshot happens if you clicked on "tools" -> "Open ProtonUp-Qt". This is not required nor necessary for SD tool / Aurora to work. So I dont understand why you wrote "Aurora fails to launch".
As for the error in the screenshot, it seems something on your SD is broken. Flatpack is part of SD and works by default. I guess you can try running the following commands in terminal in desktop mode:
sudo apt remove libcurl4
apt install -y libcurl4 curl
When I said Aurora fails to launch I meant that the new tools launches but Aurora does not. It worked fine doing the beta and with the steam tinker tools.
Thank you for your quick response.
Not sure how to post the entire message here as I dont have a keyboard for my SteamDeck, but I have finally got this to launch Aurora and the Game, but I get a huge error that stops Aurora from being used.
I'll post the first line as the majority seems like random letters and numbers
System.ArgumentException: GdiplusInvalidParameter
Edit: It happens when Aurora launches and tries to login

I’m getting the same error. Did you manage to find a fix?
Yes - I managed to find a fix, I'd recommend installing AnyDesk on the SteamDeck and download it on your PC/Laptop to make things much easier.
In Desktop mode I launched a game using the Aurora Tool compatibility, if the game is not windowed make it by changing the settings (or if you are using AnyDesk skip this part as you can just Alt+Tab to switch to the error) the error pops up, hit Return on keyboard to close the error. I was them able to open the settings in Aurora (Click on your name at top right) and disable the event (Gaining me an achievement too 😂 ). I then closed out of everything, returned to Gaming Mode, and launched said game again and it seems to be working fine now, no errors.
It now seems to be working fine on almost all of the games, however it doesn't want to work on games like Coral Island as it says "Microsoft visual c++ runtime is required" so I just launch those with SteamTinker and use the old method of Forking a command to launch Aurora first. Another small issue is that Aurora itself sometimes does not launch and stays on "Not Running" - but that is not a big problem as you just click "Close" and launch the game again and it seems to be OK.
