Perhaps trying it on some distros that have a "Steam Deck" emulation would work. I run Bazzite, and will give it a try. At least, my 10$ will go for a Linux support of some sort, and it's a great thing.
I'll let you guys know how it goes, and post my system specs for other Linux users to have an idea.
EDIT : Ok, so it does not work at all on latest and up-to-date Bazzite. You get a "Failed to copy AuroraLauncher file". I'll try on another distro, if I have time.
Is there a way to get the files out of the tool ?

The installer needs read and write access to $username$/.steam/steam/compatibilitytools.d/AuroraLauncher folder. When it fails to copy alias write to it, then it either don't have permissions or files in the folder already exist and are used by another process.

Ok, I'll try to play with the rights in folders and processes then.
If it fails on this Bazzite distro, I'll try in a few weeks with the new Mint release, or with latest Ubuntu.
Thanks for telling how stuff works
