Sounds like the proton version no longer exists on your steamdeck. In SD tool open game config and select a different proton version

Log files look fine, dunno. The issue is that the launcher is just telling Proton "run this" and from there on its basically "done". All it can do is telling if the proton process is closed or still running. But it cannot tell whatever happens inside of it. The log says that it told Proton to run Aurora and Proton process launched and that's it.

I also don't know which Proton version STL uses. Maybe it doesnt use "GE-Proton8-27" and that's why it works. Maybe you can find and attach the STL logs too. According to their Github they should be in ~/.config/steamtinkerlaunch/logs/

Here are the STL logs. Sorry for the delay and inconvenience. Thanks for all the support thus far.

    STL uses proton-7.0-6e
    SDT uses GE-Proton8-27

If it works in STL then you should select the same proton version in SDT as well.

Sorry again. How does one change the compatibility tool for it? I initially mistook it for the preferred proton list, but that doesn't really dictate what version the tool uses, just Aurora's and the choice of game.

With my severe lack of experience, I added Aurora Launch as a non-Steam game (I don't know another way to change its compatibility tool), and I switched it to 7.0-6 (the version with the e suffix didn't show up; dunno if there's a difference). It still didn't work, 'cause I don't think I did this right. @.@

Edited: The preferred proton list in SDT also doesn't show normal proton versions outside of 7.0, 8.0, Experimental, and "Next." ProtonUp-Qt couldn't see it, either. Only Steam's game properties compatibility list showed it, which is why I concluded that the former wasn't the right way to go.

Edited again: Furthermore, whenever I tested with STL, I matched the game/Aurora proton versions with SDT as best I could, so if STL still uses 7.0-6e for itself, while launching the game/Aurora with my choice of GE-Proton, then this contributes to my inept and likely mistaken conclusion that I'd have to change the tool's compatibility, itself.

The Aurora Launcher is a native app. Dont add it as non-steam game. There should be a desktop icon (switch to desktop mode in Steamdeck) where you can open it. Then at the top left of Aurora launcher click on 'Configure game settings'. Then select the disney game. At the right select Proton 7.0 and then hit the save button.

Now if you launch the game the Aurora Launcher opens and for game and Aurora status it should say: Running (Proton 7.0)

If you have trouble with it I can also do this for you. You only need to install AnyDesk on your steamdeck, open it then you will see your AnyDesk ID, send me this via PM. Then I try to connect, you have to accept that and then I can make the changes.

You can install AnyDesk from the "app store" on your steamdeck, forgot how its called.

Thanks for fixing it! Looks like it was just the Aurora directory location. Sorry for the bother.

It was the white space in the path of Aurora. I will fix this in next update. Good that you allowed me to connect with AnyDesk because this is definitely something you probably wouldn't figure out yourself and I probably wouldn't have noticed soon.
