Bottom left of Aurora window shows if sound is muted, check that.
Check "Audio mixer" in Windows if Aurora is muted
Try running windows troubleshooting for audio
thank you for the reply.
Please, check the images.
1. bottom left - no unmuted sign
2. volume mixer - on any channel - missing Aurora
3. ran the troubleshooter - couldn't find an issue though :/

And by "media player" you mean the "Windows Media Player" is that correct? Because that's necessary. And if you're using a Windows N edition you must also install "Media Feature Pack". Also check your audio devices and deactivate or unplug all you're not using.
Otherwise no idea
I presume I am not alone in this, but even without thinking I replace everything MS, with a different one I prefer. While I DO have Media Player, it was not the MS Windows Media Player, which got me very confused (shh, between us...for over a year).
I entered in Add/Remove Windows features and added WMP - everything works as normal again!
