New computer with windows 11. I turned off all windows defender settings, started the trainer (tried to turn off in-game trainer overlay, but my choice would not stick) and when i'm in starfield the trainer does not activate.

I'm betting there's something i need to do with windows 11, but i'm at my wits end. I'm a long time CH member, but only using win 10 until now. Any help getting the trainer to work would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I'm on windows 11 as well. I've got a "Trainer" folder in my documents folder. It has all my trainers including Aurora. I've added said folder to the exception list in windows security. Haven't had any activation issues on mine.

Thanks. I nuked all of windows 11 related virus , security and firewall processes, but to no avail. I also have excluded the aurora folder and subfolders from windows security, but since that didn't work i went the "nuke it from orbit" route.

I've uninstalled MS OneDrive because that app sucks and I'm wondering if it has affected aurora or my games. Dunno yet, Testing that now.

Note that additional Aurora files and master settings are here: C:\users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\Aurora

Note that you need to add that folder to any exclusions. You can also safely nuke that folder and Aurora will create a new one when run again (with all settings back to factory). If your settings will not "stick" then something may be blocking access to this folder.

As far as trainer activation goes, did you try manual activation by using your mouse to click Activate? or only F1? Make sure your f-lock is ON or your F-keys will not respond.

Thanks for this info and the reply. Added that AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\Aurora folder. Just fyi, I did try to activate by clicking "Activate" but the box was grayed out. No clicks for me. Dunno why.

I did nuke the MS OneDrive App. The general internet consensus appears to be that that App sucks. I agree. Poorly implemented and explained and terribly documented. Confusing as hell. After that Aurora worked for one use then broke again when windows continued to save files to the nonexistent, but still existent(!), document folder on OneDrive. Yikes.

Thanks again all for the help. I really appreciate it. This really sours the joy of the new computer.

Did you try nuking that Aurora folder where the master settings are and letting it create a new one?

On the trainer screen where the activate button is, does it say GAME NOT RUNNING to the left of orange Launch Game button (when Starfield is running)?

What exactly happens when you try and activate the trainer with F1 in the game? Any audio response? Have you tried setting the F1 to activate trainer to another key in Aurora settings (click avatar, then Hotkeys)?

You are right clicking and pressing Run as Administrator on both the game and Aurora, correct?

Anything in the Debug menu when trainer is open? If so, can you copy and paste here?

Have you tried activating the trainer using our mobile app?

Lastly, I have no idea what your OneDrive would have to do with Aurora unless you saved it and ran it from there. Unless you turned on Savegame Protection which then creates a folder in c:\users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Aurora\Savegames which could possibly be linked to your OneDrive.

Re the red no oxygen and fade in/out issue, Caliber posted a message saying the fix is to put on spacesuit, go into Inventory, activate Inventory options, swap something in inventory, take off spacesuit, then return to game. Guess I'm asking for the EXACT steps in order since I can't get it to work.

So when you first enter a game are the Inventory options already enabled, or are they off and you activate them when doing above?

Let me try posting this again as I'd really appreciate some advice on this. The only way around it I've found is to be sure I'm wearing a spacesuit, save, quit to desktop, re-enter game, remove spacesuit, then activate the trainer.

    This works but it's tedious.

    Thanks.

Firstly: Nuking OneDrive completely involves changing OneDrive settings before your uninstall it. Huge oversight as I had to reinstall it after deleting it in order to change the settings. But I do believe that the intrusive operations of OneDrive contributed to the CH trainer issues.

Second: Once OneDrive was gone (and it's still not gone, gone!) it seems that completely disabling windows defender now allows the CH trainer to work.

    As to your questions:
    1. No, wasn't necessary (yet).
    2. In all cases the trainer text was "Game Found"
    3. Even now, when the trainer seems (haven't tested all options yet) to work, there is NO audio confirmation that the trainer is activated. And windows Media Player is installed and working.
    4. I always run trainers and aurora as administrator. I never run Steam or games in Steam as administrator.
    5. When the trainer was not working there were 2 messages in the debug menu, but i didn't save copies of them. Sorry.
    6. I've never needed or desired to use the mobile app as I've always viewed that as just another piece of software I could screw up.
    7. You may be right about OneDrive, but since nuking it preceded getting the trainer to work, I'm going with black cats, broken mirrors and walking under ladders are bad luck. And having taught statistics, I know that correlation = causation (heh).

Thanks much PWizard. You've always gone above and beyond when I needed help or had a question, I will follow up if I find continuing issues with new computer and Aurora.

Again. Thanks to you and all who replied.

    This works but it's tedious.

    Thanks.

I can corroborate this and have included two saves, one with suit/helmet on and the other off.

I know it's always recommended to activate a trainer at the main menu, but here at least, it doesn't seem to matter, which helped in testing. I had been in the habit of activating at the menu with Aurora settings to auto-enable a preset of favorite options.

For the record, the only health related options I've been using is Unlimited Health and Unlimited Ability Powers. I have never used God but think I might have used Unlimited Oxygen very early on and stopped using it thinking that it was causing this. But it doesn't seem to matter what options are enabled. It's just the trainer being activated itself.

Even if you use this method and you can have your suit off and then enable trainer to use options, if you put on a suit and/or helmet and take it off again during the same session, the red oxygen/fade bug returns. So this workaround would only be sufficient if you only wanted to play without a suit.

The alternative that I have been using is to use the hide suit/helmet in settlements area option, which seems to work. It's more an aesthetic/cosmetic thing though, I think.

I'd also like to note that the latest game update may have broken the Savegame Protection feature of Aurora. I know it was working before the update, but it no longer does and just says, "Status: Game is not (detected as) a compatible game.

Was anyone able to make the "Allow Research" option to work? I can't seem to make it work so looking for any pointers. Thank you in advance.

Great job on the trainer and thank you to the creators!
