I was wondering...if I make a new character for offline play only, will it affect my character I use to play with my friends online? I've came this far on the online mode with them, I'm not going to start over and have them carry me.

for some reason it seems the ignore crafting requirements option seems to not work ? have tried twice and so far doesn't seem to be working for me anyways.

Game had a patch yesterday, likely this is the reason.
I suggest you post a file update request, so that we get the reports needed for testing and getting it to trainer maker.

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

What would be helpful is a SAVE where someone "has the new currency, corrupted shards", with instructions on how to spend them, and me located RIGHT where I can use them or instructions where to go and a save that has me as close as possible.

I think this is correct file for my save. I have 3 corrupted shards and you talk to the NPC Dwell who is to the right of the shooting range. When you talk to them you'll need at least 10 corrupted shards and the base weapon to craft the corrupted variant.

I can't for the friggin life of me beat the Sha'Hala: Spectral Guardian of N'Erud boss, I have the game on PS5 so I can't use trainer unless there is some cross-play savegame system I am unaware of.

My only other issue is that I don't seem to have any other objectives I can go and work on to help build up my char for the fight.
