Game is crashing over and over in basically the same places..
I can't get beyond the initial first mission.. ridiculous

Can someone post a save game farther in? And where it goes on the hard drive?

I did not encounter any crashes so far, finished the tutorial and about 2% of the first mission. 😃
The save files are located at C:\Users\\AppData\Local\ASF\Saved\SaveGames\
I have attached my save files.

I haven't gotten far enough to access the laboratory but I believe I've collected all the resources. Hope it's enough to help you get beyond the crash.

Unzip the saves into this folder "AppData\Local\ASF\Saved\SaveGames\", you should see "Campaign0_AutoSave_Mission_1" and "Campaign0_AutoSave_Otago" when done.

Mission 2 I'm stuck in a crash loop, earlier saves aren't helping either... great💀

My experience was smooth but unfortunately a lot of people in forum also experiencing crash maybe by their gpu due to their chosen resolution, found this poster that describe their crash but manage to solve it.

Crash GPU
in 20 years of video games I have never seen this.
as soon as I take the elevator of the first mission my game crashes it's not even the game that crashes it's my graphics card forced to force the restart of my pc

Specs:
1080ti
8700k

Update; 3440x1440 fullscreen make my gpu crash, bur not in Window Mode.

Sorry a bit Late, TimeZone stuff and had to double check my save which one is the suitable one to send. Great news is this save is where my marine are located in the room to the last objective portion of the first mission. Bad news is you would skip through some tutorial.
Anyway just finish the last objective in the room and the game will tell you to go to the ARC vehicle and return to the Otago Base. Find the Elevator to take you to the 1st Floor and get your way outside the building and find the ARC vehicle, right click on it to open up the option to return to base.

As the others stated, the save game location is at
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\ASF\Saved\SaveGames

Extract and put the file in SaveGames folder. Best of Luck, also try the solution regarding the steam poster in my previous post maybe it will help. I had no crashes with 1920x1080 resolution.

i think it is the resolution higher rez seems to have problems for me tried a little test but I have been at 1920 1080 with no problems
