It's very important not to keep any one of the resource option on otherwise after a short period game will crash!
First press tab and enter the Inventory then select Resources and activate 'Resource Control' option then follow by enabling any one of the Unlimited resource options and back in game just simply mouse over any resource and immediately deactivate the resource options including 'Resource Control' now once you switch tabs in the game then back in resources you should have 999.999.999 of everything.

No, my ressources remain the same. No changes, no freezing on mouse over.
For testing purposes I've let the options on, to crash my game, and it's working I can crash it, so the memory of the game seem affected successfully.

Yeah, it's the same deal with me as well. I open inventory, resources, activate, hover, deactivate, move to a different tab and back but I still have all the same values I did previously.
