I'm wasn't getting the SSL error accessing the download, I was getting it on launch of the app (I think when it tries checking for updates?).
I don't currently have a problem, since downloading and using the preview release.
Yes, that is correct, it checks for a new version on each launch and when there is one is when you are likely getting the error as the next step is auto-download from ch-downloads.com.
