Genuinely curious, what's the reason for it?

the game was a pain in the but to get a trainer made for it and then up to date with all the anti-cheat

Thank you for the explanation. I went to read Cal's expalanation as well and as usual, it's because players exploited the situation by using it to play online. They ruined a good thing for themselves.
