does this mean that their chances are higher because there are different lists (and theirs is more or less the smallest), from each of which separately, let's say, at least one person is selected in any case?

Statistically that would seem to be the case.
Eg if there are only 5 free members and everyone else is lifetime/lifetime+, that would mean all 5 free members win every round that they are eligible for.
Usually there would be more free members online than paid/higher tier ones but it's the opposite.
