is there anyway to stop aurora from automatically launching games when i go to click on a trainer?

It doesn't, you need to click on "Launch game" to do it.

B4Marc is right. But it does when you left click on a title, on the Trainers -> installed games page. If that's the case, then it's by design. If you however right click on a title you get the option to launch only the trainer.
