The virtual keyboard pops up because of Aurora, not because of SD tool. It happens whenever the system thinks that an application requires a text input. Likely the login / email field of Aurora triggers it.

This probably comes from a system update as I remember several months ago this hasn't happened.

Thanks for the info. I have selected Proton Experimental when launching Pac-Man and Proton 6.3 is still used to launch the game. I have most recent versions of Proton installed on my Steam Deck. When I launch Sea of Stars and Ghost N' Goblins Resurrection, Proton 6.3 is used to initialize the SD tool and then Proton 8.0 is used when the games launch.

I am also unsure why games like Sea Of Stars and Ghost N' Goblins Resurrection are now expecting keyboard inputs instead of traditional gamepad inputs. Is there a setting in the SD tool that causes this? When I launch Sea Of Stars and Ghosts... without the SD tool selected as the compatibility tool, the games revert to traditional gamepad inputs.

I have Decky and several plugins installed on my Deck. Could Decky's plugins be conflicting with the SD tool?

The SD tool was very useful when it worked.
I am hoping I can figure this out soon.

I truly appreciate the time spent assisting me with this issue.
    🙂

Decky can mess with your steam deck in general. Just keep in mind of when you update a plugin as you may need to retort to an older update. In the past I've had the Steam FAQ plugin cause crashes and freezes. Just keep that in mind when you update plugins.

If you are looking to use the Tekken 8 with aurora there is no way currently. Tekken 8 only works with proton hotfix and for whatever reason when you add proton hotfix to the Aurora Launch or Steam Tinker Launch the game just uses Proton hotfix and doesn't launch either launcher.

Just giving people a heads up.

I uninstalled Decky. The plugins I liked quit working with the latest Steam OS update, so I no longer need Decky. I still have the same issues I reported recently. I'll keep
troubleshooting as time allows and report my findings. Should I uninstall the SD tool and reinstall from scratch?

to uninstall Aurora just delete the folder its in

That still leaves Aurora Launcher showing up in the compatibility tools. How to get rid of that?

Unfortunately, the SD Tool update to 1.9.0.0 didn't resolve my issue regarding Aurora not appearing when launching Pac-Man World and other games expecting keyboard inputs. Ugh! Using Aurora on my Steam Deck was fun while it lasted. Hopefully, I'll discover a solution soon. I only have so much time I can devote to troubleshooting my issue.
