i tried both installed games without the usb-c adapter. and directly on the steamdeck
( its a bit more work since its smaller screen :P )
both games worked after clicking main menu than play where before i get the black screen.
on townsmen it didnt start the game. had to start the via via aurora launch game. So after i closed the trainer/game the game started again.
Dont know what 8-14 is?
Open up protonupqt and download the latest proton version. Which I think its 8-14 or if theres a newer one then try that.
Edit: Just checked and there is a proton 8-16, try that. I also tried proton 8-0.3c and it still worked. I honestly don't know what's happening on your end. If you could provide screen shots of your steam tinker game menu settings making sure to include the proton version and of the screen when you alt+tab showing the windows it will help. Post them on a site like imgur because if you add them here I wont be able to see them.

the settings i use are just the standard one with the 2 extra checkbox like in the steamdeck video and choosing aurora.exe. Didnt change any other settings.
Scroll down on STL's game menu setting and make sure you are using proton version 8.16..
Hi so I finally got aurora to recognize my game it wouldnt sense the game was opened and activated the trainer but fixed now
Now to the current issue
I'm playing either Baldur's gate 3 won't recognize the game sokay that's another day
I'm playing daymare 1994 Sandcastle and it recognize the game but when I activate the trainer it causes a fatal error either on activation of the trainer itself (randomly) or just any option of the trainer. No matter what option
Sometimes it causes my steam deck to reboot after fatal error
I don't own either, so I can't test them. I'm sure whatever you did so Daymare can get recognized is going to be the solution to getting BG3 working.
As for the fatal error some game trainers will just not work.
