I need some help with getting it up and running I follow the steps in the video but then it gets to the step when I press game menu in STL it doesn’t show anything the screen just shows the game at the top but no options what do I do

    Hi Izaohhi

If I were you I would do the following.
First try a different game and see if that game also has the issue. If it does then I would delete the pfx file. pfx can be found in steam>steamapps>compatdata then there should be only one folder with the name steamtinkerlaunch in it, delete the pfx and run the game again. If that still doesnt work delete the pfx again use protonupQT uninstall STL and reinstall it. Hopefully that should fix it cause Im out of ideas. Good luck!

I don’t think I see the folder I go to home/.local/steam/steamapps/compatdata/ and just see a lot of folders with numbers for names but there is a STL folder on home/STL should I delete that

Glad you got it to work! When you uninstalled STL did you remove the compatibility tools as well or did you click "no" when prompted?

Just asking for anyone who runs into this issue knows how to solve it.

I know you got it to work but just posting for future reference incase anyone needs this info.

For me when I look through the folders they all have their Steamapp ID's except for one that reads "372360_steamtinkerlaunch" when you click on that you should see a folder called "pfx" thats the one you would delete.

    Posted on behalf of Barbaji:

Kudos on the simplified install process, I can finally be bothered to trying to get Aurora working on multiple games instead of just one.

So, still struggling with quite a few titles and not sure if it’s my end and just bad SteamTinker/Proton settings or if there’s something I need to do specifically with each title to get it working. So, just to answer any questions, using latest Aurora/SteamTinker and either GE Proton 8.4 or Proton 8.0-2d.

    Spider-Man Remastered: Everything works flawlessly!

Cult of the Lamb: There is no “Trainers” option at the top of the screen, but if you select the “view all” button and search for the trainer then everything works fine after that. You have to make sure your game is running in Window Mode.

Valheim: Same as Cult of the Lamb except it is exceptionally hard to press the “view all” button in this game. Once you do, and if you can manage to get the trainer running without your game crashing, everything works great.

Tape to Tape: Some options crash the game, otherwise it works fine. Again, make sure your game is running in Windowed Mode, you will have to change your resolution afterwards back to normal because it does some funny stuff.

The Forest: There’s a stupid game launcher that as far as I know can’t be disabled, so there’s currently no possible way for Aurora to attach.

Dredge: I can’t seem to get it to work at all, could be because there doesn’t appear to be a “Window” mode in game, I can login to Aurora, and Hardware Acceleration is off but it seems to just disable the touchscreen.

V Rising: Another game that just doesn’t seem to work. So again, no “Trainers” button at the top, but I can select “view all” and load up V Rising, problem is with attaching. It just doesn’t detect the game running.

Undertale: Anyone able to get old standalone trainers to work yet?

Deathloop: Not sure how but Aurora completely borked the game, working on reinstalling and I’ll be able to get back later with an update. Currently there was no “Trainers” option at the top of the screen, but I’m not sure if I could select a Window Mode to alleviate this or not. Somewhere along the lines I ended up with an “AMD APU’s are not supported” Error and my resolution was literally | | < that big.

I’ve tried a few other games, but this is the bulk of what I’ve got so far.

Do you think it would be possible to add a Steam Deck compatibility page to each trainer that is confirmed working? That way you can give out steps, or required SteamTinker settings or whatever might be special for each trainer? I mean, your community could do the heavy lifting (ie above) but it’d be nice to not have to dig through hundreds of forum posts or what have you to identify it for myself.

Anyway, thanks for anyone that reads/responds!

Hopefully I can actually post myself this time!

I can also confirm that Weird West Definitive Edition works flawlessly as long as you have the game set to borderless window.

It did crash once as I was trying to set the game as a favorite in Aurora, but afterwards everything was perfect.

P.S. And thanks for posting that for me! No idea why I kept getting an access denied error...

Hello all! I got Aurora to work on my Steam Deck. My only issue is that the trackpad doesn’t work when I’m on the Aurora tab. I can use the touchscreen to click on stuff but it’s very buggy and hard to do it… Am I doing something wrong to make the trackpad/cursor work like if I was browsing on the web?
