I tried different Proton versions for the 3 games I tested which didn't work and it made no difference.

Once I activated the trainer it would lock up the trainer.

I think it's just going to be an issue that not every game in the world is going to work with Aurora once it goes through 12 different emulators, converters and a slew of other things trying to make Windows games work on Linux. I personally wish everyone would trade in their Steam Deck for the ROG Ally so that zero of these problems would exist.

But we are doing our best with it, we have more upcoming Steam Deck enhancements coming soon and we are making progress with compatibility and other things. It's just a process when our primary focus here is PC, PC Games, Windows, etc.

I appreciate all the hard work you all are doing for us. Look forward to the enhancements you are putting for Steam Deck.

May I ask if there is any possibility for some of the games which the trainer is not included in Aurora to be added into it.

I am referring to games like:
Super Bomberman R
NBA 2K Playgrounds 2
Injustice 2
Mortal Kombat II
Micro Machines World Series

Workaround? I wouldn't consider clicking a checkbox within Steam to be a workaround 😅

edit: I tried this on Pop!OS (Ubuntu 22.04) with the Steam version of Code Vein and it worked just fine.

I was missing Yad, and sudo apt-get install yad only installs 0.4 not 7.2 required by steamtinkerlaunch. I went and did the steps in the comment here: www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1036rqh/how_do_you_actually_install_steamtinkerlaunch_it/ and it installed the right version (basically downloads and compiles the current version) and set Proton to 8.4 (which is the latest version).

The only complaint I noticed is that "activated" sound effect was extremely quiet and I almost missed hearing it with headphones (it was at like 2-5% volume compared to other sound sources) but it seems like it was just repeating the activated sound effect over and over and over and over when you toggle it on/off, probably some sort of bug or quirk or something, idk.

Alt tabbing is kind of wonky in linux but also it's wonky in windows so that's whatever. Sometimes clicking the button wouldn't do anything and I'd have to alt-tab again to make it work. No, I can't use the keyboard shortcuts, because I use a 60% keyboard so there's no numpad at all. Anyways, thanks again!

edit 2: tried to do the same to Vampire Survivors and just get:

In this case please, first see if the trainer readme contains special instructions about this. Otherwise close all game processes you find in the taskmanager and try again.

edit 3: I tried upgrading to the "new engine beta" and now when I click "vampire survivors" in the Aurora list of recently used, it (aurora) just straight up crashes with no other errors.

edit 4: yeah even if I use aurora 1.7 instead of 1.7.3 it seems to make no difference and crashes when clicking on the game within aurora

Hello! In Aurora on Steam Deck, there is no game in the panel on the left when the game is running. What could be the problem?

The bar at the left is your FAVORITE trainer bar. Trainers only appear after you marked them as your favorite. Click on the search button or go to "Trainers" tab, search for the game. Open the trainer and then click at the heart symbol, usually at the right side of the game cover image.

Oops! Sorry, I asked the question wrong. Aurora shows that the game is not running when it is running. Because of this I can't run any trainer. What could be the problem? I did everything according to the instructions

finally got it working. no more using other trainers
