I am a lifetime member. Tonight, I did a fresh OS reinstall on my computer, so one of the programs I reinstalled was Aurora. I downloaded it, unzipped the folder to my desktop, and tried to run Aurora. When I do, I get the message in the attached error log. In Aurora itself, I get "server is unavailable and no valid offline key was found," so I'm not able to log into Aurora at all. The "LOGIN" button acts like it's trying to connect but can't.

I have real time monitoring turned off in windows, I have experimented with different DNS, still having the issue. I'm at my wit's end!

EDIT: this is the latest version from the website, I'm not sure how to check the exact version number.

Right click on the Aurora icon in task bar and click on 'Check connection'. It will prompt some results, you can then press Ctrl+C to copy it.

I right click on Aurora in the task bar, and it shows me the software, "pin to taskbar," and "close window." So I right click on the program in THAT list, and it says "Open," "run as administrator," "Pin to start," "pin to taskbar" and "properties."

In Aurora itself, I clicked "continue as guest" to see if it would let me sign up and the error message changed to "network connectivity or dns failure."

Link besides you can also check the Log.txt file in Aurora directory if it contains a more detailed error message.

As you just did an OS reinstall make sure you have all the necessary .NET runtime files and all that stuff installed, thats probably part if not the whole problem.

Hello! So because I was still having the computer issues that caused me to reinstall my OS in the first place, I did a bunch of checking today and figured out it was likely a faulty motherboard, so I have been rebuilding my PC today. This led to an error in windows... so, long story short, I reinstalled Windows 10 again.

I followed the exact same steps and this time, I have zero idea why, but it now shows the connection checker.

So, I did that and got

"An Error occurred while sending the request.
The read operation failed, see inner exception.
    Authentication failed, see inner exception.
The message received was unexpected or badly formatted."

I checked the readme for any .net packages, but those are for windows 8 users, apparently, and not windows 10? So if there's a different dot net package I need to install, please let me know.

    The log only says

"11:47 PM: Failed to contact CH server, exception: An error occurred while sending the request.
11:47 PM: Failed to contact CH server, exception: An error occurred while sending the request."

I did attempt to install the vcredist files but got an error saying a different version was already installed, presumably because those were for windows 8 and I have windows 10?

Sorry, I am doing my best to be thorough here.

I expect that TLS setting is not properly configured and thus SSL handshake failes.

Here are two guides how you can enable TLS 1.2 (1.1 and 1.3)

Also make sure your security tools aren't interfering. Some of them like from MalwareBytes or Bitdefender etc. have caused issues with Aurora login in the past. Make sure your Windows is up to date and although it shouldn't be necessary, see if you got .NET Framework 4.8 installed.

Also don't use any VPN or proxy. If you got NordVPN installed make sure sure youdont use the "protection" stuff.

I didn't install any security tools other than Windows, first thing I did was update everything in Windows update, and I don't have a VPN or proxy installed. This is a super fresh build of Windows.

That said, one of the first things I did was install Asustor Control Center, which is the tool I use to get into my NAS so I can map it as a network drive. When installing ACC, it asked me to install TLS 1.3, which I did.

On my previous setup, when Aurora was working, I had Asustor installed as well without issues logging in.

I have checked TLS 1.2 and 1.3, which are already enabled.
