Similar issue here when I tried it out some time ago, it wasn't a huge concern for me. The game just crossed my mind and I thought I'd check to see if anyone else experienced a similar experience.
From memory it occured pretty much anytime the game was loaded past a certain point with the trainer activated from menu, or activating the trainer once the game was up. I'd consider chipping towards a boost if necessary.

I need a your save game plus more info on how to reproduce the issue otherwise i can't help you because trainer works fine for me.
