I just did two test runs and can confirm that the super damage option will break the doctrine mechanic
No idea what this even means or why killing something quickly (i.e. set enemy to zero health) would do that, since it's a simple coding option, but Ill just remove the option. Note that this game is updating when the wind blows, including two more times TODAY, so may not have a darn thing to do with the trainer, but at least I can remove the option so people can figure it out.

Doctrines are an either or option with bonuses to certain aspects of the game. The quest for starting the doctrine is about 20 minutes into gameplay and for some reason super damage breaks your ability to issue one and softlocks your game. You have to restart if you use it. It appears it maxes out the doctrines before you even have access to issue one. I have no idea how it sets them to max when they are either or option choices and I have included a short guide that explains the doctrines. Using the trainer option for super damage softlocks the game by maxing the doctrines.

I'm not sure where or how to upload a save but I have 2 saves at the same point where the doctrine breaks I can send you somehow to try to take a look at a fix for it.

It sets the weapon damage high, a value that you would think is not used by anything else in the game. Though I did notice that when I fully upgraded my cult before running too far into the dungeons that the weapons would have a strange bug. The curses would be normal however the weapon would be the starting sword with a strange title. I am not sure why but it only resolved when I beat the first boss, then the weapons would spawn in like normal. It makes me wonder if the weapon damage is somehow tied to your doctrine level? I am not sure if this is actually the case though because I am not a game developer
