After altering item quantity the visual changes takes effect after you either use or spend the item. please duly note it might not work outside of the mission for example when you're at Blacksmith yet it might also work.

Mute Hotkeys:

To temporarily disable the Hotkeys, press CTRL-H after trainer is
activated. You can use CTRL-H to re-activate the Hotkeys as well.
You can also mute specific hotkeys by changing the hotkey you want to mute to 'NONE'.
