So is Aurora the only way to download this? I've not downloaded a trainer in some time.

Must have been a year then. We had a community discussion, then a kickstarter project and are now using Aurora for several months. You're not downloading a trainer with Aurora, you are using it with Aurora. And yes it's the only way.

Please try Aurora, it is incredible.
The interface is intuitive and there are many well thought-out options.

Will the trainer be made to work with the GamePass version as well?

Nope, I really rather Not buy the game on steam just for the trainer to work, otherwise what's the point of me paying for Gamepass?

To submit a request for a new distribution platform, please use our trainer requests system. Once at least 5 people request the same distribution, it will be available for funding. Please do NOT use the trainer option request system to request new platforms as they will be denied. Premium members at any level may request a new distribution as long as it’s done through the normal request system.
