Outward Definitive Edition Message Board  

The Steam app ID for the definitive edition is 1758860. I can get Aurora to launch it successfully by changing the config, but it still can't find the process.

This game itself is a little wonky. It expects the game's data folder to match the name of the executable. So... I moved the base game somewhere else, moved the def edition to the base folder, renamed 'Outward Definitive Edition_Data' folder to 'Outward_Data', renamed the executable to 'Outward.exe'. Launching the game shows that it is running the definitive edition.

Aurora was then able to find the game. Aurora was able to Activate the Cheat. The only cheat that works is the Speed cheat. The editor doesn't work for any field. The silver value it pulls in is incorrect (shows 256 initially regardless of how much silver I have), and changing it w/ tabbing out doesn't do anything. None of the other editor fields ever populate.

The executable for Steam's Outward Definitive Edition is "Outward Definitive Edition.exe" instead of "Outward.exe".

Per Nook's request I have filed a notification update. Given that it shows boosts are not available for this trainer I would suggest others who visited this thread to also file your report with the details you listed in your posts.

It seems the trainer was updated but still has the same issue.
It seems linked to the wrong .exe file, one of the normal game rather than definitive.

I think the problem is that there are actually two games with the Definitive Edition, and the creator of the cheat is possibly just targeting the original game. The Definitive Edition is treated as a DLC by Steam. When launched via a desktop shortcut, only the base game is launched. When launched via Steam with the "Play" button, a dialog prompt for "Definitive Edition" or base game is displayed. The Definitive Edition may also be launched directly via app ID 1758860.

The Steam version of the Definitive Edition is located in a sub-folder of the base game. The sub-folder is "Outward_Defed". The executable for Steam's Outward Definitive Edition is "Outward Definitive Edition.exe" instead of "Outward.exe".

Yeah I noticed that too, same folder as save games. Weird to set it up like that.

After 3 years of development, did this game NEED a definitive edition?

This is probably a total rewrite trainer.

I also think this was a cash grab after the game released finally.

So keep in mind this is likely going to be a new trainer completely then, requiring hours of work and a new playthrough. No ETA.

on a side note.. The CosMOS feature works just fine for finding and editing silver.. Item counts.

Awww sad to hear but good things come to those who wait.

And yeah, the game didn't necessarily NEED a DE but I am glad it got one. There was a lot wrong with it and while not all the bad things have been rectified it is my hope the dev continues to support it for a little while longer.
