If anyone has successfully played the game would you please describe how to create a server as I was unsuccessfully unable to create server. If you do please note them step by step.
you need to choose: play solo and then choose a server, there are 3 types of servers: 1 type: official server: and 2 more types: play solo and hire a server for money! you need to choose a solo game
Oh god this might need to be a new thread but I don't have the time to keep it up to date. So feel free to copy and paste this in a new thread if desired.
Step 1. You have the option to customize a bunch of settings before even starting your server. When you are in the game at the main menu when you click on start server it opens a file called PrivateServerTool.exe. Customise your settings to your liking before doing anything else.
First screen is Basic Settings:
I recommend checking the checkbox enabling a GM account and putting in your steam ID as GM account. On the same screen I would recommend putting a Server Password on and giving your server a custom name so you can find it easier in the world selection screen.
Second Screen Advanced Settings turn off Enable Durability, Turn off bRiderUseShooterMoving this last option makes it so that your horse back achery is more accurate when turned off.
Other screens you can fiddle around with are NPCs and Wildlife, Resource Settings, Player Settings etc.
I would not recommend editing Damage Settings because I had bad results with that. The description of those options in there is completely wrong or they atleast don't work as advertised.
Step 2. Once you are done with editing go to the last screen called Start Console. In here click Save Config and then click Start Server. It will give you a pop-up message stating: Start Server Please Double Click: StartPrivateServer.bat
Press yes and close this PrivateServerTool program. Press yes when asked to save changes to the config. Before we start our server with said .bat file we need to remove a setting.
Right click on StartPrivateServer.bat and open it with notepad++ or click edit to open it with regular notepad. Look for the line called -UseBatEye and removed that. Then save the file.
Step 3. Open/double click StartPrivateServer.bat
Wait for the DOS/CMD screen to fart out all the lines and your server will be started.
You can now click on custom server and find your server in the list with your own customised name. And because we removed the line called -UseBatEye and enabled our GM account you can both use the trainer and use the console commands by opening the console with ~
I hope this post was helpful.

several hints.
1. The server can run on a different machine (even on a different network) as it registers to the service and the client (your UI) pulls the address through this model.. so put a password.
2. To keep this server running local or remote up to date.. standard folder location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Myth of Empires" . The two folder needed is PrivateServerTool and WindowsPrivateServer. In PrivateServerTool, rename the StartPrivateServer.bat file to something else like "StartPrivateServer_yourcustomservername.bat" this way you can "Copy" from the original folder without overwriting your settings.
3. In the WindowsPrivateServer.. (path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Myth of Empires\WindowsPrivateServer\MOE) "Saved" folder is unique.. it contains your character and the buildings, etc.. so when a patch happens and your running on a seperate 'machine' or copied the 2 folders into a separate directory (yes you can have several private server available they just take 3Gig storage and 16Gig memory each).. copying everything except "Saved" would update your server.
If this is worth a separate write up maybe we put a new thread? Very little info online on how this works and how to keep it updated..
