Hi, I already have a saved game in Dragon Quest XI. Is there a way to use the cheats without starting a new game?
I'm on PC.

Should just have to load the game activate trainer, load save and use the options, or wait till after you load your save and activate it. Trainer just looks for memory addresses, does not care what is in a save. New or save, uses the same addresses the trainer looks for.

When I click play it loads a completely new game file. How do I get my already saved game to load instead?
I want to use cheats, but I don't want to lose progress.

That sounds like a game related question for the game devs, not a trainer related issue. You might check with them.

I ran into this only once with another game and it was due to the removal of MS Onedrive (Cloud Backups mostly), once I put it back the saves loaded fine. It had changed the location of the saves path after it was removed as it was one of the folders that were set to backup. E.G. my save folder went from
C:\Users\Mitchelle\OneDrive\Documents back to C:\Users\Michelle\Documents so the game could not see the save in the path anymore and just made a new one.
If you use something similar and or had something change where the game saved originally, find the paths of both save files and the just copy old ones to the most recently used path, should do the trick.
