It might be in the save, if you have cloud saves on turn it off, and use local saves only.
Done and did not help.
There was a Patch where they included Palamutes as Partners for the Post-Game content recently, it seems like that single change causes the error.
Would also explain the error-message, since the Palamute works as Montsie or Montsie-Substitute.
So, this Trainer actually DOES need an update for the Palamute-Patch.
PS: The unlocking of Palamutes did not change the Game-Version.

best,

Strange.
Thanks for testing. Leaves me without any ideas, why it's not working to me.
Tried everything out what works normally...
Gotta find the Problem myself then.

Strange... the recent HF-Update fixed the Problem, the Trainer is fully working again.
Hi all.
Just been doing a little testing and one thing to note about the egg editor. I just hatched a Bulldrome and noted the genes that it had, reloaded to make sure that the genes remained the same, then used the editor to change the egg into a Anjanath. Sadly, even after reloading twice to check, the Anjanath has the SAME genes as the Bulldrone. This was done a few times more to check, and I changed the smell type to "2" so as to make sure it was the best type.
Not sure if anyone has a work around for this, or maybe I'm missing a trick.
Any thoughts?
You're completely right.
And if you creat an egg out of nothing, the Monstie spawned won't have any genes at all, so you'll have to use the Channeling system.
Or this Trainer/Editor gets and "Gene Editor" option.

Same problem here....

working as intended. You can hatch whatever type you want, including hatching if you had no egg at all. I have no idea about genes or any other factors involved.
best,
Cal

It indeed appears that both genes and stat increases are awarded to the Monstie, based on its type and rarity (smell), when you pick up its egg, so changing smell or type later has no effect other than the look of the egg and look of the Monstie.
