I started a new game and the inventory options of the latest trainer still work fine. At some point in the game it no longer worked and I just saw ?? for the inventory slots as well. I stored a lot of items at a trade post to reduce my inventory (less slots, it is not about the weight) and the trainer got the inventory slots again. So far, this works for me.
can you you save the game exactly when it shows ?? then send me save files? that's the only way i can reproduce the issue and fix it
have to admit its really weird regarding inventory. It works great on a fresh game. But if you shutdown or crash, on a reload and restart the inventory options stop working and the same as no inventory weight. Everything else still works.
The other thin i have noticed it be very careful with the stat increases, the game really doesnt like you messing with those except through actuall levelups. If you screw with them to much it causes massive loses of performance and eats your computers memory. it went from 15gb to eating nearly 37gb of ram when i played around with it and was suffering a number of crashes.
whenever inventory editor stops working and shows ? then save the game immediately and send me the save files so i could reproduce the issue.

I tried this as well, but it still didn't seem to work. In fact, it almost seems like my inventory might be corrupted now, I didn't have the editor open anymore and different things (like weapons) would suddenly for no reason become a massive stack of 30-50, even if it wasn't the slot I tried to edit.

You just need to reduce the party inventory to the original number of slots, by dumping whatever you aren't about to dublicate into the Camp chest. Crtl + click dumps stacks.
Fixed mine instantly.
Too many slots makes the trainer lose your inventory.
Back to mugging merchants in cute matching outfits!
