Games get patched all the time, why is it such a problem for this one?
They have retired/put on hold other games that have patched very frequently as well.
Etc...

Thank you for the reply. I don't have an issue with them putting games on hold when they are in beta or early access and the game is constantly being reworked. In this case, the game hit full release on the 9th and the last attempt at a trainer was nearly five months ago. I don't think it is out of line to expect trainer updates every quarter, and especially when a game goes into full release where people have access to the whole game. It doesn't matter if I play it on GoG or Steam when the difference between the game wasn't some minor balance changes, but instead the ability to play the entire game. Lastly, if this was Hogwarts Legacy, which I am sure has seen a few patches, it wouldn't matter because they wouldn't put that on hold. If CH was a completely free to use application, then that'd be one thing- but it isn't. I understand there are only so many work hours in a day, and the team must focus on high popularity games, but perhaps a new feature like trainer request or boost priority would not go amiss to get things off of a Hold status.

In the context of games that just released from early access, the trainer makers may intentionally delay the update to give the devs some time to put in whatever last minute patches that they need to as if often the case with such games. The same reason applies, to avoid having their work invalidated quickly by one patch after another. The minor fixes I'm referring to is the flurry of hotfixes that usually follow the game's exit from early access. Each of those hotfixes have the potential to trash the updated trainer each time. And if you were not playing in offline mode, your game would be updated and you would not be able use the launch version trainer anymore either.
Hogwarts doesn't really compare because AAA devs are not in the habit of putting out patches one after another in quick succession. AAA devs usually take the time to accumulate fixes before releasing a patch. AAA games are not spared from being retired or put on hold either. No man's sky came close to being put on hold multiple times due to the incessant patching during certain periods of time.
Anyway, I'm sure the trainer maker will come back to this game once he is satisfied that the game's string of updates has abated.
