As you already have the auto update feature to pull update downloads through the app, how difficult would it be to allow direct downloading through the app from the site??
Also, please, please, please let us rename the trainer name that comes up in the yellow box in the bottom left of the game art... The executable name isn't always descriptive and it would be nice to name it what the game name is. Tried modifying the json file directly, but the program overwrote it every time on close.

It does download from the servers the same as the site does using webview just like a browser, downloads only come from the server via a link. Have you tried renaming them manually in the folder where your trainers are.

Right click on the trainer -> Show trainer info -> Change the text in "Name" field. No need to change the filename on disk
You can download trainers through the TM. But as of now you have to manually extract the ZIP file to your trainer folder. Will be fixed in the future.

this is totally a nit-pick but is it possible to make a "things we know everyone wants that we're working on/waiting on api updates/etc." and pin it to the TM2.0 download page or somewhere? not that it will necessarily help but for the 1% who actually read changelogs having a "known issues" section would be nice.

Technically it's not an issue but a feature request. And we already have a working TM version where site downloads are going directly to your trainer folder and are unzipped automatically. But your idea is great anyway and I follow it in the future.
