Devil, I went ahead and did a test of both KH2 and Chain of Memories today and there is a change that is new. The thing is though Im not sure whats causing it whether its Aurora, the new changes to the trainers, or even the game/steam itself. Previously there were no issues if I used an xbox remote for these games via bluetooth connection. However once I go into the game and then try to activate the trainers my remote automatically disconnects and you are notified in the Aurora debug menu. Even though the controller is still on and connected to the steam deck it will not work at all even if you turn it off and reconnect. I have also gotten the same result with a separate controller and I tested another game via EDF6 but did not have an issue with that game.
I do use a mouse and keyboard to activate Aurora trainers for Kingdom Hearts games since there are multiple trainers and then switch to xbox remote, but that had never been an issue in the past so something seems to have changed I just don't know how to identify what exactly.

After more testing this seems to be an Aurora issue so I made a thread in the Aurora boards. Sorry for any time spent looking into this.
15194255 Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix Trainer makes me crash on most cutscenes when the trainer is enabled even if no options are enabled. I have another option for cheats that is working fine so i am not especially bothered but just thought i ought to mention it in case someone else have the same problem as supporting evidence or so that if someone else encounter the same problem doesn't think it is due to other causes.
If you are staff feel free to not be bothered about this post.
Can you provide more info? maybe your save so I could reproduce?
