Grand Theft Auto IV The Complete Edition Message Board  

I am having trouble with the trainer. I open the trainer up. Start the game in Steam and it needs Rockstar Launcher to boot the game up. It boots the game up and I try F1 at the menu where you choose whether I want to go on GTA 4, The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony. Is this due to it opening up through Rockstar Launcher when the trainer says it is only Steam compatiable?

As far as I know the only way to play without the launcher is to roll back to an earlier version, but may not be possible due to the removal of the songs from the game due to license issues. There may be mods out there that will do it for you, I just don't have the time to look for them. The only one I did find rolled back to 1.0.4 but the DLC is not supported. Most likely it will just need reports filed to get trainer updated to the new state of the game. Trainer is also 1 patch behind the game.
