I am new here and would like to know, are you guys then cheating on the main game? Aren't you afraid of getting perma-banned and losing the $60.00 you've invested? I am just trying to gather some info, because I am also in the branded pool, and if they are not going to ban people because they continue to cheat, than I might as well keep doing it lol.

What they have said is they won't ban people using the trainer. Just that you will queue slower and only with other "branded" players if you want to queue with others.
I've only had problems with playing with strangers online, the connection was awful despite me having really good internet.
Otherwise, you will have a small unobtrusive mark branding you (coming at a later update).
So no, you don't lose the ability to play the game, and for most of us, we wanted to play solo independently of it. As Caliber stated, this game should have been SP with the option to go online if you want to co-op.
Wonder why they didn't go the Borderlands way and decided to force EAC and always online on all players, despite it not being a live service game. (waste of money on their side)

That said, most people don't want to spoil the game for others-it's playing how people prefer without harming other players; it would be royal jerk move to use these trainers to ruin the co op with others-so please don't do it. Also, the dev's specifically addressed this issue in the steam forums:

Unless they change their stance in the future, being branded really isn't a big deal unless you're trying to join in on random games with people that didn't cheat.

I didn't have time to scroll through the remainder pages from 29 up to current regarding if anyone else answered this question, but I was asked this: "Can you still play with friends even though you are marked?"
The answer is: YES. I decided to try it last night and was able to play in another friend's session without a problem. Well, apart from the servers taking a dump on him towards the end of our playing and he couldn't reconnect but I was still able to be in a game. After not being able to connect for a couple hours.
Way to think ahead, PCF. Because a game you hyped up DEFINITELY wasn't going to request a lot of people trying to go online all at once and overload your servers. This is what you get with Always\Only Online games.
I have scrolled through multiple pages looking for this answer and saw someone saying they could and someone saying they can't. So thank you for confirming cause I was only looking to buy this game if I could play with a friend.
