I said the same thing here
www.cheathappens.com/show_board2.asp?headID=123553&titleID=20558&onPage=9
but nobody bothers 😔
Actually, you said
"Use trainer 4. Metro 2033 Redux Trainer (PATCH 06.04.2019) for Metro 2033 Redux
Use trainer 2. Metro: Last Light Redux Trainer (PATCH 03.08.2020) for Last Light."
The METRO 2033 REDUX trainer is the only one I've tried that works for current version of METRO LAST LIGHT REDUX on Steam. None of the actual Last Light Redux ones seem to be functioning properly for current Steam version. Its kind of odd, but thats why I made this post, since the main trainer thread is closed.

Grab the Metro 2033 Redux one V06.04.2019 it works as I type this 2/4/2021. 4th down on the list of trainers. You don't have to bother these guys with update requests.
Ah... that's what these people are suppose to do is keep these upto date and and version correct for each Game Including the ReadMe's, not just Bundle the same trainer for several games that might or might not work.
If the same trainer works they can just update the Readme and explain what this is Or just rename the Trainer for the Game it is intended for and update the Readme as this gets rather confusing to the people using these and having to do a forum search to find out what is going to work is just taking things a bit far. I'm a Lifetime member and don't want to see subpar, lazy or unethical practices in a company I'm invested in.
If I go to download a Trainer I expect that trainer to be the correct one for the game I'm playing. It's my job to find the correct version to download. That should be simple and not convoluted. Then you have to hope it doesn't break the game.
And no loading a save before doesn't fix it, if it breaks a save in this game as it has save points. And you can't save in this game yourself. The game is done in chapters, Not personal saves points. And removing the trainer doesn't fix this either. So there can be several problems with using the wrong trainer.
I downloaded this trainer was very surprised to see it was for Metro 2033 Redux. Had to go back and make sure I was on the right download and try to just find out what the heck happened. This Trainer says it's for " Metro 2033 Redux Trainer ", Not " Metro Last Light Redux ". Steam Version. Do you not see what could be confusing the issue here. These are two different games.
The Metro 2033 Redux Trainer also has a few small problems with the game Crashing to desktop on occasion. Now I'm going to have to run this on a Whole Different version of the game altogether? This is a wholly separate title to begin with it's own versions and is a Steam version to.
Don't you see a problem with this. Plus your experience may be vastly different then mine. As I probably don't have the same hardware and configurations as you do being I'm on a PC, don't play consoles of any kind nor do I want to.
the Only reason I even on occasion use a trainer is for games I have played extensively and being I'm 100% disabled and my hands barely work. this makes some of what i do in a game easier. The only thing I use it for anyway is for the Bullets.

Considering that your "investment" was a whole $29 for a Lifetime membership back in 2008, 15 YEARS AGO, and not a penny more in the past 15 years, I would say that your investment has been paid in full. Anything from here on out, we'll just call it "on the house".
