Just a mention that the trainer is disabling the functionality of some buttons on my 360 controller when I activate the trainer. I've tried activating at different points of game startup, and it always leads to the same bug.
Does the trainer take over certain 360 buttons or something? 😢

I've found the Updated Trainer is disabling the Analogue sticks on my controller for character movement wne its activated...

Yes, I am experiencing the same issue with the updated trainer and my 360 controller. As soon as the trainer is activated the joysticks no longer work.

I have the same issue as well, disables Right bumper and analog stick when outside the game menu. Does not start working after turning off trainer options, doesn't work after closing trainer, have to reboot game completely to eliminate the issue.

Activate the trainer OUTSIDE of the game. Just alt tab outside, focus trainer window. Press F1, tab back into the game. Press a controller button.

It's the game which bugs out if you press a key, specifically F1, when you actually want to use a controller.

Guys, just tap F1 again.

*EDIT* Handing you the solution on a platter here. You push F1 a second time and controller function returns.

I am just confirming that the trainer disables controller use with an xbox one controller as well.

I encountered exactly the same issue with an XBOX Elite Series 2, once the trainer was activated, all functions worked perfectly while both analog sticks were disabled...
