Ok, after some tinkering, I figured it out.
If you start the trainer, and then start the game, the trainer will start with numbers in the editor it got from somewhere else. I do not know where it gets the values from whens tarted that way. But, while you are in game, this is what you need to do to get the editor to work right. Atleast, it's what I did, and the editor started to work for me.
While you are in game, at the start of your turn, alt tab out, and close the trainer. Then open up the cheats happen launcher, and start the trainer again. Once trainer starts, click the manual activate link on the bottom. The trainer will start, and the editor will show questionmarks (??) for each value in the editor. Go back in game, and take your next turn. After you complete the turn, and your next turn starts, alt-tab back out to trainer, and the editor will show your actual in game values.
Now you can make your changed in the editor, hitting TAB after changing each line you want to change. Example, change the gold value, hit tab, change faith value, hit tab, etc. After you've made all the changes you want, switch from editor tab back to trainer tab, and then go back into your game.
Now take your current turn, when your turn is finished, and your next turn begins, the in game values will update to what you changed them to in the editor.
I don't know if this is how the editor was designed to function, but it's what I did, and it worked perfectly.
Hope this helps.
