I've been able to use the STEAM trainer with my STEAM 1.0.69.21 version game up until today but whenever I activate the trainer the game crashes. I have anti-virus disabled and am running the trainer as administrator so I have no idea what else to do. I even uninstalled and re-downloaded/installed the trainer.

maybe the game patched.

According to the game itself, it's at v1.15. I'm using the STEAM 02.03.2010 trainer version but I don't see an actual version number for that trainer in the details.

I can re-check it, pretty sure it worked before when I tried it. Stand by...

Fresh install of game

Trainer works, all except F4 fast kills, that will cause crash so don't use it.

I uninstalled and re-installed both the game and the STEAM 02.03.2010 trainer, then ran both as administrator and it still crashes the game whenever I try to do anything after hitting F1 to activate the trainer. Could my save file be corrupted or something?

Possibly, more likely an anti-virus problem

Extract trainer and make sure trainer/launcher/editor is in a folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed or set anything trainer related (paths and EXE's) to ALLOW. Disable any Live/Active/Real-Time tools which may trigger false positives in security software which may terminate the game/trainer when it's activated or options used.

may need to be added to exclusions as well. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again.

since it's older trainer other exclusions may be needed

FYI, my laptop rebooted itself and performed a disk repair and after that everything was good to go. I appreciate the replies!
