In Free Ride Where Can I find.........

I wanted to practice in Free Ride with a Sniper Rifle so I might be able to finish a chapter later in the game that I have to use one in? I looked in the armory where Vinny is and I can't find one. Maybe the reason I can't find is because I have not done the particular chapter yet? Could someone please confirm.
