Civilization 5: Brave New World Message Board  

Hi guys, I can't figure out why the trainer isn't working for me...

Things I have done & checked but still doesn't work:

-The version of the trainer matches the version of the game.
-I extracted the trainer application from the .zip file to the same directory of my game.
-I've tried using both the original numpad keys and remapped my own ones.
-I've turn off my antivirus software and run the trainer in admin mode.
-I've tried both running the trainer first before the game and running it after the game.

I've followed the instructions and waited the game to load until the main menu and press the F1 key to activate the trainer. It does triggered the activated sound when I activate the trainer on the main menu of the game and when I pressed the assigned keys during the in-game scenarios but it doesn't seem to work.

i.e Gold doesn't seem to increase even after I press on Numpad 0 in-game.

FYI: I was playing the single player Viking scenario.

If any of you could offer a possible solution, that would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have the STEAM version? Are you using a multiple monitor setup, this is and older trainer and may need to be on the same monitor as the game.

Yes, I'm running the game on Steam with my laptop. No external monitors connected.

Re-bind the keys to something else, as it may be looking for the Numpad keys which most laptops don't have.

Or if you have an USB numpad, plug it in and try that.

I already tried rebinding the keys before to something else and it still doesn't work. It's one of the list of things I've tried before posting here.

When I press the keys during in-game, the does initiate the "activated" sound but it doesn't take effect like for example, my gold doesn't increase at all when I press the assigned key for that but it does say "activated".

And yes, I followed to instructions; go into a city screen, click on the assigned key and exit the city screen and you should see the gold increases. Except, it doesn't.

I was going through the threads and seen a similar issue, Do you have Gods & Kings DLC installed? If so, remove it and then try.
