The trainer was, and is, the latest version of the game. However this morning whenever trying to use the Team Editor the game immediately crashes to desktop, almost 100 percent. I have got into the team roster once or twice but no editing is available and crashes soon thereafter anyway. I have used the trainer with the Editor a lot since its release, and always used the routine of setting the first stats back one, before trying to edit as suggested on the boards. This is no longer an issue, because the game doesn't allow me to get that far as of this morning. No update has been issued by the company as I just returned from the steam forums.

I only have the suggestion that we put into the trainer..

Allow Player Editor At All Times:
Toggle on and you can edit the Player values for the roster, even in situations where this is normally locked. Likely, this has no effect on online human vs. human games. If the game crashes when doing this in FRANCHISE mode, then try this. When entering FRANCHISE MODE and editing players, for the TOP PLAYER, go to each category and decrease the stat by 1 (for POW, CON, SPD, FLD, ARM click to the left in the editor to set it smaller, preferably below 99). Then you can try to edit the other players. The game has some internal checks and this seems to get around it.

We may just end up removing the player editor part. Mostly people are trying to cheat online with it or use it for stuff that leaderboards get distorted.

I have attempted to download the latest trainer update for SMB3 but continue to run in to the same error screen here is what it says.s

"error '80070002'

Having never encountered this before and having made numerous attempts to get another result failed, I decided to post here in the hopes of some assistance

I have no luck downloading this update for almost 2 days. There's a site error message for the server. The second message now is "error '80070002'

I am also getting an error when attempting to download the latest trainer:

Ok..it works

Now how do you edit the team budget aka $$$$$
There used to be a lock pad to lock in the team budget value in the older version of the game. I dont even see the budget in the game to tell if the team's budget took.

At least two versions back, this trainer worked fantastic. This trainer and the one prior to it, I couldn't get to work as advertised. Last version the player editor crashed upon entering the team editor so there was no way to even attempt using this feature. A few moments ago, I attempted to use the latest version, and everything seems to work fine, the "arrows" or "cursor" or whatever else you want to call it never appears, so no way to change values. Everything activates OK, F1 at start , the keys activate and deactivate, for other entries as well. I have used the trainers from here with SMB3 ever since its release.
p.s. Is anyone going to respond to this post about possible fix or update ???
