The trainer tells me that it has and error. will not run. Need the Steam version of which forum posts directed me to no# 4
So far every trainer I have tried just doesn't work.

The Steam trainer is now number 5, not 4. And the trainer is from 2019 but according to Steamdb the game has been patched in 2021. So it might be outdated anyway. You can fill out a trainer update report.
