Try it and see. I've never even heard of that.
It's the new intrusive anti-cheat by RIOT for their new game Valorant, it runs on system startup to prevent hackers in their games.

Yeah the Valorant anti-cheat is a r00tkit, no ifs or buts about it, it gains root 0 access to your system.
I understand they want to be tight as hell to protect their game, but I guarantee no player gave them full access to their system, remember while it is running on root 0 it can be used in pretty much any way, they could be gaining info on your system usage, changing how your system runs, and potentially have backdoors open on your system from any potential exploits found with this anti-cheat.
If you desperately want to play the game, I suggest a dual system, like Linux with a Windows virtual machine with hijacked dedicated GPU, Sound Card and Keyboard and Mouse. So you are not at risk with it, just use the VM to play the games.
I have done this with a 2080ti as the hijacked card and SB Zx as the sound card. Believe it or not the games work faster than a true Windows shell.
However to do this isn't for the feint of heart, you need to know how to elevate stuff in Linux. I am sure you can find How to guides that will help you every step of the way.
But you will need 2 GPUs one main for the gaming, one lesser for just everyday use. Dedicated sound card (unless you want to play games with no sound) along with an onboard sound card. 2 keyboards and 2 mice.
Now you don't need 2 CPUs, because you will only need a couple of cores for your linux environment to do mail, video watching, etc.
If you don't want to do that, then I strongly suggest not installing Valorant.
I strongly agree with this post.
Valorant's anticheat should be illegal. Since it isn't, best we can do is boycott them 🙂

I watched a video online that said that Valorant currently didn't support the use of Virtual Machines... not sure if that's true or not but if it is that's just really stupid if you ask me...
