Alright, so I figured out how to get around the error. You need to use the Inn so it properly utilizes the save mechanic in this game. Should load the GameSav1 after that. In order to load the saved file, quit and then load your save. Should be good.

Re-download the new trainer. If not working, provide your savegame for us to look at.
