The game crashes with error message "Fatal error" the moment I activate "Unlimited Alien Weapon Ammo". This game is giving everyone an headache whenever it comes to cheats.... The Devs are working hard to prevent us from cheating even in Solo... sigh....

Just tried newest trainer for Reach

1. Halo: The Master Chief Collection Trainer (Halo Reach 11.24.2020)

Activates and works just fine for me.

Would running the trainer as an admin make a difference?

Always run trainers as admin.

I'm having the same issue. The odd thing is, this option worked the first time I ran the game. After I saved and quit, then resumed play later, the problem started. From that point onward, activating the "Unlimited Alien Ammo" option causes a Fatal Error. All other cheat options are working correctly. As an additional note, this happens whenever the hotkey is pushed, regardless of what other cheats may be active. I even tried changing the hotkey, and also tried activating the option manually. As soon as the option is activated, I get the Fatal Error message.

Additional info:
-I am running the Steam version.
-I am using the "Play Halo MMC with anti cheats disabled" option.
-I have tried this with both the original mcclauncher.exe file and the version that was included with the trainer that allows achievement progress.
-I am running the trainer as admin.
-I have run a "verify file integrity" check on the steam game. All files came back clean. (I did restore the original mcclauncher before running the scan, since I knew that file would be flagged).

Just tried it again and it activates and works fine for me. Do you even have an alien weapon in hand before activating it??? If not It, that could be the reason. Trainer cant scan for it if it's not shown on screen.

That fixed it, sort of. However, there is still an issue with the feature.

It seems that if this cheat is active at ANY time you don't have an applicable alien weapon (has to be a weapon that can't reload, like a plasma pistol or energy sword), it will trigger the fatal error. If you drop the weapon (or go through a cutscene that forces a weapon loadout change), it will cause the game to lock up- no error message, just frozen game that must be closed by task manager.

All that being said, the weapons this cheat affects are generally the least useful in the game. Perhaps the best fix for the time being would be an explanation in the Readme file. EVERY other feature of the trainer works perfectly, so it's hardly worth the effort to modify the trainer right this moment.

Just a question to be clear: It is really necessary to install Halo Reach for the trainer to work? At the moment I only installed Halo 4, but the trainer expects the "haloreach.dll". Not sure if this an error or not.
