Red Dead Redemption 2 Message Board  

The Steam release Date for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been confirmed today by Rockstar Games. RDR2 and all its online components will be launching on the Steam platform on Thursday, December 5, 2019. The news was confirmed via the Rockstar Twitter page

we will await for people to post if the trainer activates without issue on steam before we buy it yet a third time.

Up to RDR2 all my games have been purchased via Steam, but I can honestly say there is no advantage to doing so in this case since the RockStar launcher will still have to be used to play the game.

I bought an activation key from CDKeys (at a $20 US discount) and had no problem installing or running the RockStar platform. I ran into a few minor tech issues; they were very prompt and helpful in responding. Have been happily playing the game for a month now.

Dang man, Red Dead 2 is 103GB on Steam. Is it that bad on Rockstar Launcher and EGS? I would test the trainer but looks like I am waiting a day or two. RIP internet.

Btw current trainer works perfectly on steam. No need to buy another copy. 😀

How did you get the trainer to work with the Steam edition? I've been trying but have not figured it out yet.

Launch the game all the way till you can move around, alt tab to your desktop and run the trainer as admin, alt tab back to the game, activate trainer. use trainer.

be aware tho that the trainer needs an update first, as there are 28 update requests.

This does not work fully. I just purchased RDR2 on Steam. Installed it and downloaded the latest 1232.13 Trainer and it will not activate by pressing F1 at the main menu. I alt-tab back to the trainer, manually activate it from the trainer and it says trainer activated. I alt-tab back to the game but need to go to the trainer to activate any of the options. Each option I activate from the trainer screen responds with Activated yet not all the options are truly active in the game. For example; Unlimited Ammo and No Reload work while Unlimited Stamina does not even though the trainer shows it is activated. When I go to Debug in the trainer window it displays the following:

23:48:08: Red Dead Redemption 2, 1232.13 (EPIC)
23:53:42: Successfully attached to RDR2
23:53:42: ATTENTION: You're running a STEAM game but the trainer was for EPIC, the trainer or a cheat may fail to activate

If the error is correct it appears that v1231.13 does not recognize the Steam version of the game. Of the hundreds of trainers that I have downloaded and used this is the first one to ever produce this result.
