At first I had the trainer running with unl. health, invis, comp health, unl. tdd, unl. durability, ammo, parts, no reload, max weight. Then I tried with all off but trainer still open,
lastly with it not open.

Each time as soon as I walk into the room it crashes. I don't know how to get passed it.

Update I had to dismiss both companions in order to fix it,m, not sure why though

You were exactly right.

I had the same glitch. I was in the middle of Stellar Bay, just walking around, taking on quests, .. all that stuff. I reload my game, look down at a chest, and BAM, instant crash to desktop. I try a few other configurations, I empty my inventory, nothing works. I'm just fine on the Unreliable though of course. So that should be a good clue.

Indeed, not going out in the world with two followers did the trick. I'm currently walking around with Nyoka and doing just fine. Props, friend! You've saved me a full restart.
