Would it be theoretically possible to add an "add item" options. i hate that the devs make it so hard to use the console, churning out a DLC but still havent fixed half the issues of the game..

I downloaded the windows store game pass and used the game pass store trainer version. all the cheats I used worked fine. Its usually god mode (unlimited health) for both main character and companions and mana (if its that type of game) but in this game I used the unlimited ammo and money. I used the unlimited weight cheat after I left edge water I became encumbered and could not run. So I tried to use the skill where you can fast travel even if you are encumbered to see if it had an effect but didn't work. So I started a new game and did not use that cheat but as I left edge water and came outside edge water, same gate as before. I immediately got the unlimited weight cheat after it finished loading. So I loaded a earlier save but that earlier save also had the unlimited weight cheat. So I jumped back to windows to see if the unlimited weight was activated and it was not.

So I tried to find how to "repair" the game. but I can't find the option on the windows store. Maybe its better to wait for the steam version of the game to release.

You can't edit a ?? until it finds and displays a number, then you can edit it.

So this is a weird experience so far - the trainer options work fine on first load, but if you exit the game and don't log out/in or reboot before playing again, you might have trouble with the trainer.

    1. Worked fine on the first night. Closed the game and trainer, went to bed. Left PC running.
    2. On the following night, I launched the game and trainer. The trainer hooks to the game via F1, but no options work. Tried remapping the trainer hook hotkey to F12, no dice. No success until I rebooted the PC, then everything worked fine next time. Left PC running.
    3. This evening, I launched the game and the trainer, but the trainer didn't seem to need to hook, even if I remap the hotkey. In fact, initially F1 immediately tried to activate a trainer option, and no options obviously worked. Weird!
    4. Quit the game and trainer, to try again or troubleshoot. Launched the trainer first, and I notice it says t he game was running... but it's not anywhere in the process list. Weird. Couldn't find a process. Deleted all the trainer configs, confirmed no left-over processes for the game or trainer. Reproduced it each time. Started the game anyway, and it naturally repeated #3 above, not giving me a chance to hook to the game process properly.
    5. I logged out and logged back into Windows (not a reboot) and launched the trainer. It correctly doesn't see the game is running yet! Things work fine now.

Sharing my experiences in case someone else has issues. Not sure if this is a store thing or a trainer thing, but my first guess is maybe the game path is being funky. Being strange Windows Store app volume kinda stuff.

Windows is saving temp files and possibly other data.

    Delete all files in

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90
    C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens

Learn how to make your own Trainer Cleaner for the above paths Here. Link

Reboot PC to clear excess memory. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again. At times, a new game may be needed to resolve failed options if the data in your save file was altered. Use on a new game and test the option. If it now works, quit to main menu and load your save and try it again.

    Thanks for the suggestions, Cypher.

I took slightly more aggressive steps to delete all CheatHappens folders even:
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\*
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens
    C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens

Relaunched the trainer, immediately says "Game Running" up-top, but the game is definitely not running. The app volume isn't showing up in any task manager image/command-line paths, either.

I know that logging out and back in (or rebooting) will fix it for sure, but not sure why that is, or what the trainer is necessarily matching with.

The only debug logging shown in the trainer so far is:
    19:45:37: Controller detected
    19:45:37: The Outer Worlds, 09-14-2020 (WINDOWSSTORE/XBOXGAMEPASS)

And this time around, the Settings -> Game -> Path parameter is empty (before flushing all settings, it shows a "shell:...volume-id..." kind of path.

Happy to provide more info if that's desired, but I'm kinda fine just re-logging into Windows to make the trainer and game cooperate. This is the only game (well, and trainer) I've ever seen this behavior with. All other CH trainers have been just fine.
