I see that I did not understand how to use this trainer. That was the source of the problems I was having. I got a trainer for a different game. Comparing that one with this one was my clue. Here are the things I did not understand.

1 The trainer is meant to run in the background at the same time as your game.
2 To start a session, start the trainer, then load your game. At the game main menu, press f1 or alt-tab to reach the trainer where you can manually connect it to the loaded game. Then, choose which saved game you want to load. After that is loaded and the game is ready to play, you can alt-tab to the trainer and see that it shows your current stats.

3 At this point you can edit your stats if you desire, give yourself money, etc.

4 Otherwise, while you are playing the game, certain hotkeys are available to you to modify play. For PV, this is by default, numpad 1 and numpad 2.

Knowing that, the trainer will perform as you expect. All functions work.

I have been using this trainer on Windows Server 2016. It works fine there. I switched to my Win 10 partition. Here it will not run at all. It briefly appears in the Task Manager and then disappears.

I also use your Assassin's Creed Odyssey. That trainer works fine under Win 10. I see that the PV trainer uses an older trainer format. Could be it needs an update?

Have both latest .NET CORE and FRAMEWORK

With the new PD version, this trainer causes crash to desktop when enabled.

STATUS: ON HOLD - This game is currently patching very frequently and/or is early access with few downloads. It is counter-productive to continue updating the trainer under these circumstances. When the title becomes more stable and/or is out of early access, it will be re-evaluated for an updated trainer. Trainer updates for this game may still be released intermittently while in this status depending on our current workload.

Understood. I posted that for people who might be thinking of buying CH thinking they can use it with PD. Such people cannot necessarily know that "On Hold" means you have no intention of fixing this trainer.

Actually, it would be decent, fair, and honest if you put that notice in clear bold type on your PD trainer page, rather than back here in the messages.
