For Editor options, enter a battle and then click on a friendly unit and you can see the current values for the unit. Modify the values. You can likely use this to attack and kill all the enemies with ease, since you can heal your units, and move over and over.
Ship Money:
Toggle on and when you move your ship, and the game saves the turn/move, you have plenty.
Ship Fuel:
Toggle on and when you move your ship, and the game saves the turn/move, you have plenty.
Ship Energy:
Toggle on and when you move your ship, and the game saves the turn/move, you have plenty.
Ship HP:
Toggle on and when you move your ship, and the game saves the turn/move, you have plenty.
Instant/Easy Ship System Install and Construct:
Open the SHIP window that allows you to install SHIP SYSTEMS. Add or remove a system, then toggle this on, then remove a system, and then you can easily and instantly fill the unlocked slots with systems.
Enemy Will Not Attack:
Toggle on while in battle, and any enemies that have not seen you or not been attacked will not attack.
Unlimited Ammo:
Toggle on and many weapons can be fired without reloading.

Mute Hotkeys:

To temporarily disable the Hotkeys, press CTRL-H after trainer is
activated. You can use CTRL-H to re-activate the Hotkeys as well.
You can also mute specific hotkeys by changing the hotkey you want to mute to 'NONE'.
VR Mode

HTC Vive
Click on the 'VR Mode' button. Trainer options will now be drawn as buttons. Activate the trainer as usual with your keyboard. Put your HTC Vive on and when you are ingame press the 'Menu' button on the hand controllers to open the steam overlay. At the bottom you can click on the 'Desktop' button and you can easily press options on the trainer with your hand controller now.
Oculus Rift
Click on the 'VR Mode' button. Trainer options will now be drawn as buttons. Open Oculus dashboard and click on 'Oculus Desktop', now press the buttons on the trainer to toggle the cheats.

Why is the game on hold? Are there many updates?

It's still Early Access and it had like 5 updates in just the first half of March.
Yes it is, the developer asked me yesterday if I had any suggestion for enhancing the game, thus it's still in early access and will be patched again in the near future.
