    Capcom contacted CH and apparently threatened that the trainer tampers their gamers' experience, and now, a trainer is no more.
    What hope is there for DMCV which actively hinders players Red Orb acquisition rate to favor micro-transactions?
    I thought CH was better than this.
    Bring the trainer back and upload a newer version please.

    Sure, just send us a signed, notarized copy of a letter drawn up by your attorney that you will be personally responsible for paying any and all legal fees for CH and it's parent company and we'll be happy to bring it back. Have your lawyer contact me at [email protected].

    😀
    I did not mean to make a demand. Just a request (hence the word "please".
    Is there any legitimacy to a possible legal action?
    I do not recall the EULA or any agreement stating that modifying the game files would be legally pursuable.
    I am sure you realize companies like Capcom are expected to make threats, even empty ones. Please, if you have access to an attorney, consult them on the matter.
    I would not be surprised if Capcom's claims would not hold water.
    But, you know better than me. I'm just an end user who likes his trainer back, that's all.
    Cheers.

    @PWizard

    Out of curiousity, if you do not mind me hijacking this thread and asking, does Capcom have a problem with your trainer, your editor or both? And is it a specific function or is it the tools mere existance per say that bothers them?
    To be honest, I still fail to see how a trainer or editor could possibly infringe on their business, since you take great pains to not alter any game assets in any way and solely operate on shared memory.

    Cheating on PS4 started shortly after release via savegame editors, and Capcom never seemed to care much. In that context, it simply seems strange for an outsider like me that they now seem to have such a problem with the utilites you offer here at CH for the PC players.

    I can understand that they made the Nexus take down some mods that unlocked payed DLC content without having to pay, but trainers? My apologies, but this just puzzles me.

    I trust you, the CH leasdership, will come to the right decision in the end. I just hope we won't have to hang in limbo for months before that decision is made public. ^_^"

    That is one of the points that puzzle me. CH trainers do NOT alter game files. They operate solely on what data is in shared memory.

    I mean, if Capcom didn't want things modifying the traits in the game, they could have made their online only game not store all its save data locally.

    The trainer still is listed as 'on hold', so I am curious if it is officially dead, or if there is still a decision in the works. It was just thanksgiving weekend, and holiday weekends tend to slow the gears down on decisionmaking.

    Also, no amount of trainers in the world could help against Lunastra, because screw you you blue fiery piece of crap.

    MH:W isn't an online only game, GreggHL. MH:W is a single player game with optional online co-op and events. And if history has shown anything, then it is that Monster Hunter players will go back to old titles long after the servers have shut down, which makes it necessary to have the game store its data locally. Except the event stuff of course.

    @topic

    Please folks. I am no moderator, but this is really not helping. Such decisions are not made easily nor fast. Double so if it was a holiday weekend. I understand that many get antsy, and I will confess I too would like to know the outcome sooner rather than later, but please, give CH the time they need. This is, at least partially, a double legal issue.
    Capcom accuses CH of impacting their business with their utilites and asks them to stop. Which CH did for the time being to not risk anything. Of course, now the ball is in Capcoms court to prove to CH that it is indeed their utilites, and not other trainers or mods, that are having that perceived impact on their business. Of course, Capcom needs to respond and prove it in an acceptable time frame, since the hold-up with the trainer/editor could otherwise be seen in Capcom impacting the business of CheatHappens, by sticheathappens their ability to supply the trainer/editor to the paying public. And doing so with unprovable or even false accusations is punishable.

    Mind you, I am not a lawyer or anything like that and I do not really know the U.S. legal system, so take it with a grain of salt, but here in europe, this would be a very dumbed down explanation of the situation.
    Rest assured, it is complicated and the CH staff is doing what they can. 🙂
