I believe the game has some anti-cheat/save function.

When you try and use the trainer or I even tried using CoSMOS to edit my gold, saved it.

Though once you exit/main menu you'll receive an error message and your save file has been deleted.

Though, not sure if that's me.

If you rename the save extension from .zks to .rar you should be able to extract it and the .json files can be opened in any text editor, but I recommend notepad++. If you keep all of the files in a folder of the same name as the .zks you can load from there in game and continue to make changes without extracting that file again.

After you find your save file
(Mine was located here "C:\Users\${YourUser}\AppData\LocalLow\OwlcatGames\PathfinderKingmaker\Saved Games"

Right click on the save you wish to edit and open the archive with 7zip, then the .json you want to edit in "party".

I can't help after that, just wish you luck, I've failed to locate the attribute section.

It's easiest if only one or two characters are in a party at once so you can differentiate easier. While editing party.json search for your intended stat (ie Strength, Constitution, Intelligence) and match up the base value (a bit to the right) to the character you would like to edit. Edit the base value and save.

Type:Intelligence,m_BaseValue:14

That worked, thanks for your help.

Anyone having problems with crashing - Try CLOSING your inventory after Num1, and then use Num2-7, save your game as the instructions tell you to do, load your save, and your stats should be changed.

Edit: To clarify, I was having the exact same issue.

Tried this, but the stats didnt change, yey for you if it worked for you
ps. also crash if trying to peek before loading the save
